Less dust drifting to the local environment
Less dust drifting to the local environment
Along our storage fields, a windbreak 18 metres high and about 1 kilometre long has recently been erected. This windbreak reduces the wind speed over our raw material fields, which means less dust will be able to drift and be released into the environment.
Also, the dust particles that drift during transport or the excavation of our raw materials are now less likely to end up in the environment. The windbreak therefore reduces dust deposition (dust that settles on the ground).
To make the windbreak blend into its surroundings as much as possible, artist collective Spatzuiver has applied graffiti to it. This also makes this windbreak the largest mural in the Netherlands.
65% less dust deposition
