The world around us is changing at breakneck speed, partly due to digitisation and the use of data. These changes will accelerate in the coming years.
DataDrivenSteel is the name for our digital transformation to make data-driven green steel. Based on data, we are working on sustainability goals such as reduced energy consumption, a reduction of our CO2 emissions, and the prevention of smell, nuisance and dust. We also use data for our economic goals, such as improved efficiency, better quality, and the optimal use of energy and raw materials. And of course, for a proper balance in our employees’ work conditions.
DataDrivenSteel is the digitisation of our company’s entire operating process, for which we have defined the following priorities:
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: how do you make decisions based on data flows?
- Dashboarding: how do you ensure that the knowledge acquired is visualised?
- Applications: how can we simplify repetitive processes through digitisation?
- And lastly, ‘data across the chain’: how can we integrate as much of our data as possible with that of suppliers and customers?
Security and data governance remain important prerequisites in this regards. We follow new, innovative developments closely in order to achieve sustainability and economic goals as effectively as possible by means of data-driven steel.
